Downloadable Gift Bookplate.

2010 May 28

There are some really gorgeous downloadable bookplates around the internets but strangely none that you can use for when you receive a book as a gift.

I love knowing who gave Aspen her books so she can look back in years to come and know that ‘Aunty’ Zoe gave her the book she loved so much when she was just a tiny wee thing. I wanted one that had space for the child’s name as well as the giver and a date so I decided to make one myself and thought I’d share it with you.

I made a colour version as well as a black and white version in case the kids want to get involved and colour it in. The date goes in the heart ;-)

Download the colour and black & white bookplate

(A4 size but also fits on US Letter)

I’m featuring this in a few days on my new blog “On The Lap”. It’s a blog dedicated to helping parents promote early literacy. I’m scheduling it for the 15th so stop by.

i agree! i always like to write who books are from! I still treasure particular books from my childhood mainly because the person who gave them to me wrote in the inside cover. thanks for the downloads!!
