Ten ways to ‘kiddify’ your dresser.

I thought it’d be fun to find some interesting ways you can turn a plain old dresser (aka chest of drawers) into something fun for a kid’s room. All images are sourced from the encyclopedia of Google so all original sources will be included (some might even have tutorials). Feel free to throw your own ideas into the fray as well.

Paint drawers a contrasting colour
(Matthew Marks Gallery)

Add some funky knobs
(Store Housewife)

Try out a graduated colour scheme – add more white as you go
(Homeworkshop – see Before and After)

Add wallpaper to the front panels
(Apartment Therapy)

Use string or tape (or even those circle dot stickers) to create a pattern when you paint
and remove when dry (The BigAss Book of Home Decor – as seen here)

Find a comic book (or some old sheet music) and use your Mod Podge
to decoupage the bejeezus out of it! (Do it and How)

Cut up a decal and stick it on!
(Michele’s Blog)

Make your own decals with wallpaper or adhesive contact
(Domestic Wormhole)

Add some touches of pattern behind drawer cutouts
(Kidsbabydesign)

Simply add some ribbons!

Consider these ideas… snarfed!
And don’t forget to use a safety strap to attach it to the wall! We learned the hard way that kids can topple over even low dressers.
