October Colour Me Happy Challenge: Think Pink.

As October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the choice for this month’s challenge was very simple:
Think Pink.
I’ll admit that pink is not my favourite colour. Not because it doesn’t look lovely (did you know that pink rooms bring out the natural glow of human skin which makes it perfect for bathrooms?), it’s just that having a daughter, I can’t escape it. Ever. Her hand-me-down clothes are all pink. Her bed sheets are pink. All the ‘girl’ toys out there are pink. Pink pink piiiiiiiiiink!!!!!
This month’s project is going to be a challenge for me most of all. I’m going to have to look past the stereotype that surrounds this warm-toned colour and appreciate it for what it is. Bright…like a sunset. Pretty…like a flower… Soft…like a baby animal nose… (teehee)
Would you like to join me in adding pink to your life? You could paint a wall pink, crochet some pink bunting, decorate a cake pink, make a pink hanging mobile, print this cute paper printable, make this Little Pink House Felt Embroidery, this felt flower or turn a piece of furniture into a hot pink hottie. Basically, get your pink on!

If you have a prize you’d like to give the winner, please email me on colourmethere(at)gmail.com and I’ll add your awesomeness onto this post.
As usual, you can share your photo on my Facebook Wall, tag me in Twitter or Instagram (@colourmethere) or send me an email.
So… about Breast Cancer Awareness Month…
Breast cancer isn’t picky – it affects women regardless of medical history/diet/lifestyle/age. Luckily, catching it early means a greater chance of beating it. Breast Cancer Awareness Month is all about keeping this message at the top of our minds: Breast Checks Save Lives (and mammograms over the age of forty).
Can we all agree to do a boob check this month, please? We don’t need to become a statistic or a sad story – we can be a positive story like this one.
